- How to fix the problems with the Twitch Giveaways Manager as of 06/20/2016
- NOTE: What is causing this issue is mainly Better Twitch TV. Recently Twitch changed their chat coding, causing alot of issues on the chrome extension. The Twitch Giveaways extension was soon updated and fixed. Unfortunatelly extension such as BTTV messes with twitch badges, and since those are used to recognize whether a person is a subscriber or not, hence this bug.
- NOTE 2: Theres no easy/fast way to fix this bug(for now, as the developer said).
- NOTE 3: You may check the developer insight on this matter on this github issue tracker topic: https://github.com/darsain/twitch-giveaways/issues/29
- The Twitch Giveaways Manager still works perfectly, I tested myself, but only if BTTV is disabled, so im providing a quick workaround.
- 1. Open you Chrome Browser, click the triple bar icon on the top-left corner and go to More Tools > Extensions
- 2. On this window you should have something like this: https://gyazo.com/502d54e19bbba760e1c4ba1ede5bf985
- 3. Mark the 'Allow in incognito' checkbox under the Twitch Giveaways extension and make sure that the same option is UNCHECKED under the BetterTTV.
- 4. After that just right click the Chrome Browser icon on your taskbar and click 'New incognito window', this will open a different instance of Chrome, completely separated from the others, not influencing any other window that you have, and the Twitch Giveaways extension should be running just fine since BetterTTV won't be enable in it.
- 5. From this on, just simply open an incognito window for giveaways and it will work perfectly.
- Kind regards, Squidwords.
